A performer introduces several intriguing props: a large felt square, on
which is printed a circular chart with the numbers one through sixteen
in random order; a small piece of card showing the numbers one through
sixteen in a grid formation; a dice-like cube, bearing a different ESP
symbol on each side; an opaque paper cup, and a small spinner with an arrow.
A spectator is invited to shake the cube inside the cup, then to invert
the cup so that no one knows how the cube has landed (i.e., which symbol
is now on top) The spectator now places the spinner in the center of the
circular chart, and spins it. When the rotation stops, the number to which
the arrow is now pointing is noted. When a number is chosen, the mat is
turned over and we find the symbol selected matches both the design on
the die and the symbol at the numbered position chosen by the spinner.
This can be repeated with a different outcome in a seemingly more impossible
situation and is entirely under your control!
