Crazy Spots - Tenyo
This effect was released in 1969 by Tenyo, although during the 1940's to 1960's Harry Roydon of South Bend, In. marketed this effect as
'Spooky Spots'. A magician shows a small hinged board and asks a spectator to say the first color that comes to mind. For example, let's say red was the color. When the hinged board is opened there is a red spot! First surprise. Then the magi shows a blue spot on the other side, saying had the spectator thought of that color the magician would have been covered as well! "Although, being a magician," our conjuror says, "I could summon just about any color I want!" The magi then closes the hinged panel and reopens it only to cause both spots to change to entirely different colors!!! Finally, without ever removing the board from the
spectator's sight, our wonderworker rubs one of the colored spots and it
instantly changes back to its original color! All may be examined, afterward.
Harry Crawford of Wilkes Barre, Pa. came up with this handling and made
a good effect fabulous!
